What is Cole Coffee?

Cole Coffee has been a local stomping ground on the edge of the Oakland/ Berkely border in Northern California for over ten years. With a cafe as it’s central space for sale, the company has adjusted and redesigned the consumer experience in light of COVID-19. Currently, all orders are taken through two cafe windows. Here you can order. handcrafted on-the-go beverages, roasted beans, tasty treats, and retail.

The Problem

How can a local coffee shop better serve their users through their online shopping experience and while increasing the efficiency of their process and sales?

Competitive Comparative Analysis I Usability Testing

What I found through comparative analysis and usability testing of both Cole Coffe and it’s competition - the checkout flow for purchasing retail is that the checkout flow was rather smooth.

Findings:

  1. No online checkout / pick up flow for ready-made drinks.

  2. Repetitive Navigation throughout the site

  3. Aesthetically heavy and repetitive imagery
